Fished Chartiers Creek evening
Place: Chartiers Creek
Where: Bridgeville Sourrounding areas
Water Temp: 70
Water Quality: Clear and Low
Baits Used:
- WeeCraws
- Corn

Took my Nephew Trent out for his first RF trip to welcome him to Pittsburgh and he did very well.
He landed 4 smallmouth on WeeCraws and 1 8lb Carp on corn. Love the Boga Grip!

The stream is severely low and clear so fishing was slow. I caught two and trent took the gold.

awesome, its great to see young ones out there gettin it in. being a newcomer to this site but not by fishing i
was inspired by the earlier post of spring recon.  i decided to do some recon for myself, afterall i think this is an underestimated fishery that i hope stays that way.  i went out tonight to fish a strecth that i have never fished before. Judgeing by the lack of access i am sure it hasnt.  the wife being out of town made sure of no guilt. decided not to take fly rod knowing it takes more study i took the trusty spin rod, equipped with rooster tails to cover water. first cast fish on, smallie but i mean small. second cast the same. spent the evening casting to what looked like good water as daylight was low. good news is i saw a ton of baitfish and a ton of insect life. i caught a lot of small fish but know there are bigger because i caught a 15 inch smallie. having the time to cover water properly i know i would have done better.
thank you RYE for the inspiration to search more.

bring on the steel cant wait till october.  hopefully this year will be better than last.  fishing for me was a little slow but it was nice to catch so many browns up there last year.  the stocking of brownies seemed to be a success because i seen a lot more of them caught last year,  way more than before

anyone ever fish by frosty valley golf coarse.  i golfed there sunday and the creek through there looks like prime water.  i have fished below the coarse and have had some success.  its good after a good rain cause i find at least a dozen golf balls.  probably my own from past golf trips. if you have how can i access that section of stream there doesnt seem to be anywhere to get in besides down below and wade up.

Rye,
Did you lose your Boga Grips on Chartiers that day you fished with your nephew? I found a set on Labor Day morning and by the looks of the pics you posted it seems to be the same location.

My son Nick and I fished Chartiers last Friday evening for about an hour before dark. A lot of action many smaller but very aggressive Smallies. Nick caught one decent SM just before dark. We were using Tini Torpedos in Baby Bass and Bluegill patterns. Had a blast!
